FINAL SEATTLE EVENT TONIGHT!
(THURSDAY THE 17TH):
Owls and Woodpeckers of the Olympics, Cascades and
The Columbia Plateau

This coming Thursday, September 17th, I will be holding my final Seattle book presentation highlighting dozens of never before shared images of owls and woodpeckers. Among the new photos will be unique images of owls learning to scale trees and fly, as well as mating, feeding, calling and hunting! Tony Angell, the gifted artist who wrote the forward for my book, will be doing the introduction, and the talented Martyn Stewart, who recorded the accompanying CD, will be on hand to meet folks.

This unique presentation will look at Owls and Woodpeckers of the North Cascades, Olympics and the Columbia Plateau. Some of you have seen a few of these images in the last two newsletters: http://www.paulbannick.com/photolistarchives.php , and there will be many more!
Space is limited, so please consider signing up early. Tickets: $10 advance through Brown Paper Tickets and $12 at the door

Two badger siblings confront one another outside their den.

Early last spring, I was fortunate to witness two Northern Hawk Owls during courtship. After a female owl joined her mate atop a tall spruce tree, the two locked talons for a spinning embrace that continued even after they hit the ground.

Three young Brown Creepers spring from the depths of their nest cavity to compete for a moth delivered by their mother.
